boot and shutdown screen

Is there any way to disable the boot and shutdown screen? I don't care for it.

the package used is called splashy, if you uninstall the package that should get rid of it.

Thanks Alan,

Worked, looks great without the splashy screen.

Why, I believe it boots faster. No initial hesitation in booting because flashy splashy is not loading,and less lines, no 10% 20%............
