error message re: io-slave and kio-file

I'm getting an error message from a couple different operations, and don't find any help in searching MEPIS forum or MEPIS lovers forum...the message is -
Could not start process Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_file'.
I've gotten it when starting Amarok, and also when trying to mount a floppy.
Can anyone point me to a solution?

I think I've cleared it up with several upgrades through Synaptic, including KDE. I'm not sure which one did the trick, but I'm not getting the error now, Amarok is fine, so all is well. Thanks for the reply!

this error can arrive after an upgrade, when some of kde is upgraded and some isn't.
(I saw it happen to my mate's machine, and had to download heaps more to get it right again).
so, you may need to go to sid, or to back to sarge or reinstall.
no easy answers at all.
