upgrading
first I see that the pools are going through 'changes' with the warning not to upgrade and a notice that this will be going on for a couple of months. Now there is an anouncement that an upgrade is available.

will the upgade get my sound working and makje it so I can double click with the touch pad

is the command 'apt-get upgrade' ?
I think I will just reinstall 2003. Everything works out of the box! Recomendations?
KDE 3.5.0 solved my sound problems on my
Gateway m675prr laptop.
There is a thread on this forum in which "Kerry" discusses how to upgrade to KDE 3.5.0 and what repositories to use. His method has worked for me on 5 different MEPIS installs.

If you know what you are
If you know what you are doing and you only want to upgrade the Mepis stuff (I have no idea if it will solve your sound problem-give more details and maybe someone can help out) then do so.
The command is, as root
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
DO READ the messages you get. DO NOT just hit the enter button as you may find the upgrade uninstalling things you need (It shouldn't do so if you only use the Mepis reps).
If you don't want to do this, use whatever version of Mepis (or linux) you want to. No-one will be upset if you do.
