PCMCIA network card no longer detected

SimplyMEPIS 3.3.1 and MEPISlite 3.3.2-1rc1 detect and set up my Xircom Cardbus ethernet card on Dell Inspiron laptop.

SimplyMEPIS 3.4-3 does not find it. It doesn't even show up in lspci.

DSL 2.2 and Kanotix 2005-04 detect it fine (although I have to enable it in Kanotix)

System description:
Dell Inspiron 4000
P3 Coppermine 1002.631 MHz
192 MB RAM
Intel 440BX chipset

Selected messages from dmesg appended below.

Just to clarify and emphasize, the device works with MEPISlite and older versions of SimplyMEPIS and other distros, but not with SimplyMEPIS 3.4-3 which suggests that some part of SimplyMEPIS 3.4-3 is broken.

P.S. Is this the best way to give feedback to the MEPIS developers?
