Flat panel displays with Mepis?

Mepis 3.4.3
Is there a list of compatable flat-panel displays (or other hardware) for Mepis?

There might be, but I don't

There might be, but I don't know of any at the moment.

If the flat panel will do the standard resolutions at 60Hz, 72Hz, 75Hz, 85Hz (standard) vertical refresh rates, you shouldn't have any problems at all.

If you're looking at a brand recommendation, I'd tell you to go with Samsung SyncMaster. Ours are the best thing going, right now (and for the past few years).

From my forays into the innards of a bunch of (not-Samsung brand) LCD monitors, it seems that Samsung makes the guts of these things anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into that.
I have seen compatability lists for other distros.

Hardware Database

Check out the hardware database on the Mepislovers site.

flat panel

my household now has Dell widescreen and they are fine.
at work we have several brands and they aren't all the same quality.
I have a Proline which is excellent - better than an older Samsung on someone else's desk.
whatever you are interested in, take a LiveCD to the shop and check out (even if you buy mail order later)

Most any should work. Make

Most any should work. Make sure it's hardware compatible with your graphics card (ie. dvi digital, d-sub analog connectors). I've been very happy for a couple of years with a NEC Multisync LCD 1760NX, Digital/Analog, but there are so many. I noticed that now the OScenter finally has this monitor in it's listings. Before, I had to edit the horizsync and vertrefresh values in the X config file, but no big deal. I like the Samsungs, too. I'm currently using the NEC with a Leadtek 6600GT PCIe card.
