OS: MepisLite 3.3.2 test 1
Problem: Synaptic keeps saying broken package every time i install a newer version of a package manually (using KPackage) than it thinks exists. ie. I installed amsn 0.95-3 even though it thought .94x was the latest.
More: Synamptic now recognizes amsn 0.95-3 as the newest version so its no longer broken, but in the process of installing amsn i had to manually upgrade lib6c and now its a broken package. KPackage says i have ver. 2.3.6-3, Syn. says i have 2.3.2.ds1-22
To reinstall it either with syn. or apt-get 20 odd things need to be uninstalled. which i'm not sure is a good thing.
Thought: I think my sources.list file is stuck in the stone ages by only searching stable packages. I tried to edit it manually using sources.list files i found on this forum but Syn. apperently hates that. So if anyone can tell me how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.
