DWL-122 / Linux-wlan-ng - Does not start during boot or via Mepis Config

Hi,

My DWL-122 usb wireless dongle does not start at boot, or via Mepis Config.

During boot udev loads the correct modules (prism2_usb) then the following error is shown:

modprobe: FATAL : Module wlan0 not found.

a little wile latter the prism2_usb module is unloaded.

Mepis Config cannot start wlan0

I have tried looking at the modprobe conf files but cannot figure out where the above error comes from. I am not really sure how to edit these correctly as there appears to be 2 methods used for modprobe by mepis and no modules.conf only module.conf.old

If I manually configure wlan0 using the linux-wlan-ng commands it works fine:

# wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable
# wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid=myssid authtype=opensystem
# dhclient wlan0

If anyone can point me to a detailed explaination of the start up files used by mepis that would help a great deal.

Or if you have this working just fine - How did you do it?

Thanks

R
