disappearing trash canAt some point after I installed 6.0, I accidentally deleted the trash can icon on the desktop. I has since been replaced, somehow, in my home desktop folder, but isn't visible on the desktop itself, so if I want to restore anything I've sent to trash, or delete the contents, I have to open up the desktop folder. Not one of the bigger problems people have, but it would be nice to see the icon again on the desktop. Any suggestions? »

6.0, any version, don't have the trash can on the desktop. You can add it as an Applet to your Panel as I have been doing.

Thanks, that worked nicely. Obviously I was mis-remembering about the accidental delete. Probably something else and not seeing the trashcan made me think it was that.

Try to add a new "link to location" and use
trash:/ for the URL, then you can change the icon.

The Trash Can is now back on the desktop by default in 6.0 Beta 2.
