problem detecting eth0 for Gigabit Ethernet

I am putting together an install of SoHo server (2.6.12 kernel) on a new motherboard I have no experience with. Its an EPOX 8RDA Pro. Below is the print from lspci. The LAN chip is a Cicada CIS8201. Eth0 not picked up during the boot at all.

Questions:

a) anyone know why the LAN is not detected? Can it be manually installed? where are drivers??

b) USB jump drives aren't autodetected....anyone recall the protocol to force this in fstab? I should know this

c) This has the Silicon Image SIL3114 sata raid on it -- is there any driver support for mepis/debian for these guys? The drives are seen but there is no detection of the "hardware" raid. I suppose whatever software there is won't support Raid 5, as this chip seems focused on windows users. So it may be a good time to experiment with software raid and Raidtools2....

Any help is greatly appreciated. I know the SoHo kernel is a bit dated, but was surprised to encounter the problem with the LAN. We've been using the same old biostar motherboard for a while and sometimes the old ways are best.

I have the same problem with

I have the same problem with a ASrock 939SLI32 that comes with gigabit ethernet controller.
What can I do? Is the module included on kernel 2.6.17?
