MEPIS 12 Beta

A new test release of MEPIS 12, version 11.9.86, is available for testing. It may take up to 24 hours for the ISOs to appear at the mirrors.

After extensive experiments, and feedback from the community, it was decided to defer the support for EFI BIOS and GPT drives support. Unfortunately each hardware vendor is implementing the "standard" differently.

This release is believed to be of Beta quality. Please report you test results at mepiscommunity.org

MEPIS 12 Second Alpha

The second test release of MEPIS 12, version 11.9.70 has been upload for distribution to the mirror sites. This is an Alpha quality release, which means that it is incomplete and may not install correctly on your hardware.

There has been an update to a 3.5.2 kernel, and the installer has been improved to work partially with EFI-GPT formatted drives. Please report your test results at the mepiscomunity.org forum.

MEPIS 12 Early Alpha

MEPIS 12 early alpha, version 11.9.60, has been uploaded. Subscribers can get it now. It should get to the public download sites within 48 hours.

SimplyMEPIS 11.0 Production Release

May 5, 2011 -- Warren Woodford is pleased to announce the release of SimplyMEPIS 11, the latest version of the renowned SimplyMEPIS Linux operating system that is designed to be easy to install, easy to use, and easy to make your own. This production release is available from MEPIS and public mirrors. The ISO files for 32 and 64 bit processors are SimplyMEPIS-1.5G_11.0.00_32.iso and SimplyMEPIS-1.5G_11.0.00_64.iso.

MEPIS has always been easy to install. 8 years ago, MEPIS created the first fully functional (what you see, is what you install) live CD and graphical installer. You only need to answer a few simple questions and within minutes you'll be ready to start using your new system. It doesn't get any simpler.
