Nov 21, 2010 9AM EST -- It was 8 years ago today that the MEPIS Linux project started when Warren Woodford decided to build a version of Linux that would be easy to try from CD, easy to install from the live environment, and easy for everyone to use. Today the third alpha-test release of SimplyMEPIS 11.0 is available in the form of SimplyMEPIS-CD_10.9.80_32.iso and SimplyMEPIS-CD_10.9.80_64.iso files. This test release is for use by the MEPIS Tester Community. As usual, MEPIS alpha-test releases are not expected to be backward or forward compatible with MEPIS final product releases.

MEPIS Releases ISOs for 1GB USB Keys

Morgantown, WV, Apl 21, 2010 -- MEPIS LLC has announced the upload of SimplyMEPIS 8.5 ISOs that will fit on a 1GB USB key. The USB sized ISO files for 32 and 64 bit processors are SimplyMEPIS-USB_8.5.03-rel1_32.iso and SimplyMEPIS-USB_8.5.03-rel1_64.iso respectively.

Warren Woodford explained: "This build includes the packages that are preloaded in the CD sized ISOs and in addition contains a number of extra applications and basic localization support for a few languages.
