The latest version of SimplyMEPIS contains everything you need to get started. The DVD versions contain over 2,600 software packages that you can install, or reinstall, at any time without reconnecting to the Internet. But if you have a high speed Internet connection, you can easily download and install any of a total of 15,000 additional packages.
After your payment has been processed, you will be returned to the MEPIS Store where you will be told how to download your Subscription instructions. The instructions are in a pdf file. Please keep this file for future reference.
Most CD ISO files are about 700MB in size and DVD ISO files are about 4GB. You must have a high speed connection, if you plan to download an ISO file!

From time to time, you may receive updated download instructions by email, sometimes with a MEPIS Newsletter. To receive instructions and if we need to contact you about your order, you must provide a working email address!

Version 8.0

Version 8.5

SimplyMEPIS 8.5 was released with the KDE 4.3.4 desktop in March, 2010. It has been reported that some of the KDE 4 features were copied in Windows 7. But MEPIS configures 8.5 to have a look and feel similar to MEPIS 8.0, to ease the transition to the newer desktop.
