Yes, yes. I know the forums are closing. Just a quick post to say that the newest proprietary ATI 8.42 driver installed out of the box on an ATI Xpress 200 on-board chipset (Mepis 6.5).

I am assembling a computer for my daughter\s daughters. It will have a new motherboard but I have a working ATI 7100 128 Mb displaycard.

How well will Mepis 6.5 work with it?

I saw the other post for help for this video card. Did nothing come of it?

Ive been trying everything I can think of to get the drivers working, but everytime I get black screen and text login and have go back to vesa. Has anyone been able to get fglrx working?

Earlier I griped that Mepis wouldn't let me span my desktop across two screens and I didn't fully get what X.org meant.

I am new to Mepis but i have gotten v6 RC2 installed on my hard drive and gotten the wireless card that is in my Dell E1505 to work thanks to those that helped me on the forums.

I have an ATI 7500, a pretty old card that ATI's official drivers don't support, but the DRI drivers do. I have no idea how to install them, I've tried to follow their faq, but it's too complex.
