We knew it: Mepis is a Winner!

TheLinuxBox.org published the results of their poll:

"Let's take a moment to make a quick tally. Overall in the voting, MEPIS came in first and PCLinuxOS came in second. In the way of helpful comments, signaling an active community with interests in this contest, PCLinuxOS has been the most active, and with all the distros involved, MEPIS has been the second most active."

Tech TV Mention

On the May 3, 2004 telecast of Screensavers on Tech TV, Leo LaPorte recommended Mepis as a Linux distribution that is easy to install, and he also showed the Mepis website on his monitor as part of his report. Also, there is a mention of Mepis on the
Screensavers website at Tech TV.

Review of MEPIS 2004.01

Linuxgruven.com posted this review/overview, saying, "SimplyMepis 2004.01 is only the second major release of Mepis, yet it already offers what I consider to be the best of desktop Debian."

MEPIS 2003.10 Review at OSNews.com

On OSNews.com, Andrew Hubbard wrote a review of MEPIS 2003.10. In addition to calling MEPIS an "excellent distro", he said, "MEPIS seems to be improving in leaps and bounds and I’m looking forward to checking out future versions."

MEPIS: Distro that Rocks

Joe Barr in his conclusion to the Spawn of Debian Faceoff says: "The little distro from West Virginia that rocks. Mepis came out on top by scoring well in every category. I don't believe it has any weak points, and I sense a community building around it that could really give it a boost in number of faithful. I bestow upon Mepis the Most Likely to Succeed award."

Mepis Linux in german Linux press

Linux Intern magazine, a quarterly Data Becker Linux publication, features 5 pages of pure Mepis and a short introduction of Warren to the german readers. In numerous other articles Mepis gets mentioned.
