launching programs in Mepis 7

I have never has trouble before doing this.

Control Center, Internet & Network, Samba Configuration

3D Desktop Switcher for MEPIS!!!

This is probably one of the coolest features on MEPIS Linux! Rather than using your regular Desktop switching applet (the little squares) give 3D Desktop a try. It shrinks your currently viewed desktop into a single side of a cube of all of your desktops. You then "spin" the cube to choose which desktop you want to go to. Each side of the cube has a screen shot of the desktop it's representing so you know which desktop you're going to! Give it a try because it blows the Windows Vista 3D Alt+Tab out of the water!

EncFS - Encrypted File System

EncFS allows you to create one or more encrypted folders for easy access, just like opening and closing a safe. The encrypted folder is mounted to an empty non-encrypted folder that acts as the "safe door". You are able to open the encrypted "safe" folder with a command and a password or pass phrase. But you must put and take the contents through the safe door folder that is not encrypted.
